Description

African Hawk-Eagle (Aquila spilogaster) is a strong, medium-sized eagle recognised by its dark upper parts, contrasting white chest with bold streaks, and piercing yellow eyes. Often seen in pairs, they patrol large territories over woodland and savanna, flying with deep, steady wingbeats before gliding in wide circles.
In the wild they can live around 15 to 20 years, though in captivity can reach up to 30 years under ideal conditions.
